Introduction
The theory of bureaucratic caring is developed under the basis of the interrelationship between world systems which work in hand with nursing practices to provide ethical care. The flow of information among the systems which ensure the provision of better health care are interlinked with the healthcare system through networks of relationships in information choice and proper communication (Ray, 2012). On the other hand, the theory of successful aging illustrates the effects of health intervention and promotion which aims at ensuring successful aging among other health indicators. The practical guideline of the theory of successful aging is to ensure that the health of an individual is promoted through reduction of body complication that is mostly experienced during aging (Troutman-Jordan & Staples, 2014). The two theories are both involved in ensuring health promotion among individuals through the provision of better nursing practices.
While providing care especially for the aged, it is imperative to accept and address the needs of every individual with their uniqueness regardless of their believes and customs. Bureaucratic caring theory suggests that an individual requires a holistic treatment approach that focuses on his/her mind, body, and soul whereby omitting either of these may result in negative effects of the healing processes. The changes that occur among the aged transforms their body functioning especially in response to healthcare processes thus requiring maximum health care attention.
The incorporation of the two theories provides a metaparadigm of treatment which includes a conducive and favorable nursing environment especially for the aged. In this case, a metaparadigm of nursing for the aged involved provision of physical therapy, social work, nutrition counseling, and pastoral care which mainly ensures successful aging. The theory of successful aging correlates with AANC Master Essential in that the application of the theory requires the healthcare provider to integrate the knowledge on health imagination, transformative thinking, and evolutionary change during the learning as well as practice period (American Association of College of Nursing, 2011). Nurses are expected to exercise flexibility in their profession to adapt to the healthcare dynamics and changes which are set to ensure the enhancement of healthcare delivery.
