The issue of gender equality in South Asia and European countries sparked interest while exploring the foundation’s website. The article discusses how women have been impacted the most by the recent recession however this impact was greatly reduced in those countries that had gender equality prior to the recent . According to Zaidi (n.d.), the main focus of the foundation is to close the gap between genders, and to do so they utilize a policymaking approach that includes care, cash, and data. Each one of these items is designed to create empowerment for women in the efforts of recovery. The article mentions that the element of care is helping families who are raising children and caring for loved ones, providing cash directly to women to help alleviate some stress, and collecting necessary data so that they can create new and to help with the inequality. Providing women with additional resources and help helps address the issue of diversity and allow for them to have the same opportunities as men in the post-pandemic world. The foundation utilizes partners to help break down structural barriers that women and girls face and challenge the social norms that allow for these disadvantages.
